Scotti Well Cage

The elegant Liberty Cage by Alessandro Mazzucottelli, wrought iron master.

Scotti Well Cage

Opposite the thermal spa building, the Scotti Well Cage is one of the finest expressions of Art Nouveau in Salsomaggiore.

Designed by Giuseppe Boni (1884-1936) to cover an old artesian well, it was commissioned in 1912 by the Dalla Rosa, Corazza & C. company.
The hexagonal-shaped structure rests on a concrete plinth and comprises glass panels anchored at the sides to a wrought iron frame decorated with branches and leaves, all clearly Art Nouveau in style.

Given the stylistic similarity with the decorative elements of the Regina hotel, the work is commonly attributed to the Antonio Veronesi workshop.
