De.C.O. Products – Municipal Designation of Origin

To the discovery of the traditional local products

Municipal Designation of Origin

“De.C.O. – Municipal Designation of Origin” is an hallmark which allow every municipal authority to enhance its local activities and agro food products. It’s a territorial certificate which ensures the local origin of an agro food product and guarantee its quality, typicity and expression of a collective heritage.

Law n. 142/1990 allows every Municipality to regulate their own De.C.O. products which are signed and registered in a special register. In 2015 the city administration of Salsomaggiore Terme has set up the De.C.O. territorial certificate to protect and enhance its local products and activities.

Certificate De.C.O. Products

To date are 11 the agri food products signed up in the De.C.O. register of Salsomaggiore Terme:

  • Bargnulén o Bargnolino – Registered by “Pro Loco Salsomaggiore” at  n. 01/2015 – liquor;
  • Gelato Artigianale alla Frutta Fresca (handicraft ice-cream with locally produced fresh fruit) – Registered by “Gelateria Sanelli e C. s.n.c.” at n. 02/2015;
  • Gelato Artigianale al Parmigiano (handicraft ice-cream with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese) Registered by “Gelateria Sanelli e C. s.n.c.” at n. 03/2015;
  • Gelato Artigianale Dolce Salato alla Mandorla con Sale De.C.O. di Salsomaggiore Terme (handicraft salty sweet ice-cream with almond, with De.C.O. salt of Salsomaggiore) – Registered by “Gelateria Sanelli e C. s.n.c.” at n. 04/2015;
  • Sale Alimentare di Salsomaggiore Terme (food grade salt of Salsomaggiore Terme) – Registered by “Comune di Salsomaggiore Terme” at n. 05/2017;
  • Cioccolatino al Sale di Salsomaggiore Terme (chocolate with the Salsomaggiore Terme salt) – Registered by “Ditta Ampollini e Biolzi s.n.c. – Bar Gelateria I Portici” at n. 06/2018;
  • Praline ai Liquori Tipici di Salsomaggiore Terme (liquor pralines with typical liquor of Salsomaggiore Terme) – Registered by “Ditta Ampollini e Biolzi s.n.c. – Bar Gelateria I Portici” at n. 07/2018;

  • Carciofi sott’olio dell’antica varietà autoctona di Salsomaggiore (artichokes of the native ancient type of Salsomaggiore in oil) – Registered by “Azienda Agricola Moschini- Agriturismo Colle Rio Stirpi di Schiavetta Moschini Anna Maria” at n. 10/2018;
  • Anolini al pane e formaggio (fresh pasta filled with bread and Parmigiano cheese)– Registered by “Comune di Salsomaggiore Terme” at n. 11/2018 – filled fresh pasta.
